Through misted hills you roam,
Your howls echo through my heart.
Tears slide down my cheeks.
Why won't you listen?
I see your pain
My hands reach out
To touch your side and
Stop the blood flow.
But your eyes flash in fury
Your fangs glint in torchlight.
Though you've bitten me twice
And my hands shake in terror
I will beseech you through
The moaning winds that call your name
The sun warming your back
Waterfalls echoing your grief.
I pray you call on the One Who names the stars
And calms the storms
To soothe your tormented soul.
Let Him in.
Let His balm cover your wounds
My tears are offerings
For your release.
I will not hinder you.
Run my wild one.
The Hound of Heaven
Seeks you
He is never far behind.
His footsteps will guide
You through the thorns
To streams of solace
To rivers of joy
To glens of peace
To forests of strength.
